Finding a part and locating it on the catalog diagram

The challenge

Parts catalogs were spread across huge PDF files with inconsistent part-number formats, some scanned with noisy text, which made manual lookup slow, tiring and error-prone.

What we built

We built an indexing engine that reads each catalog and extracts numbers and descriptions with source-specific parsing, normalises part-number formats and corrects common scanning errors, behind a search interface that shows results instantly and opens the original diagram or table straight from the PDF.

The result

One system indexing more than 148,000 parts across 128 catalogs in a single instant search.

A technician finds a part in seconds instead of minutes of manual browsing.
